Transpersonal Ecopsychology Certificate

Transpersonal Ecopsychology

International Certificate

March 2026 – January 2027

As the first Spanish Certificate in Transpersonal Ecopsychology, the program is poised at the confluence of Eastern and Western spiritual teachings, deep ecological thought, and a psychology in service of Soul. The fertile fruit of this confluence allows for the emergence of an interdependent, integrative perspective that, rooted in the natural world, promotes the joruney of personal development of facilitators and guides of Soul in service of consciousness’ blossoming and collectice regeneration.

Transpersonal Ecopsychology invites us to heal the connection with our essential nature, with others, and with the living Earth, to remember our belonging to the sacred, animate network of existence. Balancing academic rigor with creative openness, the Certificate is a journey of personal and collective transformation aimed at re-enchanting our relationship with the world, deepening in the path of our own blossoming, and rediscovering a deep sense of service in times of planetary uncertainty.

The intersection between the deep dimensions of human consciousness and Earth’s wisdom at the heart of the Certificate contributes to developing essential skills for personal and group tending, in alignment with the callings of soul in harmony with the web of life.

Structure & Vision

The vision underpinning the Certificate program is grounded in the interdependence of the psyche, wild nature, and the evolution of consciousness. Our aim is to prepare students to address some of the essential needs of our time, integrate cutting-edge advancements from various fields of study into a cohesive model, and foster a harmonious development—one that is deeply connected to nature and to the latent potential dwelling within.

The program is a 100% online learning undertaking characterized by an integrative, compassionate, and relational pedagogy, which cultivates various forms of intelligence through presentations, dialogue, group work, meditations, and experiential exercises.

Broadly speaking, the curriculum consists of four modules and a final integrative project, totaling 240 hours of combined coursework and study. Each module comprises nine synchronous sessions—held once a week and lasting two hours each—while an exercise in self-inquiry and integration is conducted at the conclusion of every module. The Certificate is awarded upon the successful completion of all sessions, the module-level self-inquiry exercises, and the final project.

Modules

The four modules of the training are designed to delve into the foundations of transpersonal ecopsychology, activate a transformative process of creative transformation, and develop eco-transpersonal facilitation and guidance skills at both the personal and community levels.

See the tabs below for more information.

The first module explores the living roots of transpersonal ecopsychology—a path for healing the modern sense of alienation from nature by highlighting the deep interdependence amongst mind, body, spirit, and ecosystem. The theoretical and experiential foundations of the dialogue between psychology, spirituality, ecology, and ancestral wisdom are presented, thereby contributing to reframing the planetary crisis as an auspicious opportunity for transformation. Topics include: the history and principles of ecopsychology; the transpersonal perspective and the role of Soul in processes of regeneration; the wisdom of the body-ecosystem; indigenous knowledge; and the re-enchantment of the feminine as a force for integration and care.

Objectives

  • Examine the theoretical and epistemological foundations of Transpersonal Ecopsychology, as well as its key proponents and propositions.
  • Analyze the concept of interdependence among mind, body, spirit, and ecosystem as a means of addressing the contemporary disconnection from nature.
  • Contextualize the emergence and development of Ecopsychology and Transpersonal Psychology, identifying their major schools of thought, concepts, and authors.
  • Recognize the epistemological and ethical significance of indigenous knowledge and the wisdom of the body-ecosystem from a depth, integrative perspective.
  • Understand the principle of the feminine as a relational force, oriented toward care and the reconnection between the human and planetary dimensions.
  • Explore the role of the soul and of transpersonal consciousness in processes of ecological and psychological transformation and regeneration.

The second module delves into the dynamics of inner and collective transformation, exploring the rites, symbols, and expanded states of consciousness that accompany processes of deep change. Mystical and shamanic traditions, the principles of trance and ritual, and the importance of ancestors and the sacred dimension of suffering and healing are studied. The phenomenology of non-ordinary states of consciousness and their therapeutic potential is examined, along with the necessary care and ethical considerations when supporting these processes. The links between psychology, traditional medicine, and spiritual crises are also addressed, as well as the role of trauma and addictions as potential thresholds for transformation.

Objectives

  • Analyze the archetypal principles of psycho-spiritual transformation, identifying individual and collective dynamics of deep change.
  • Examine the role of rites and symbols from mystical and shamanic traditions as mediators of healing processes and psychic renewal.
  • Explore the therapeutic and educational potential of non-ordinary states of consciousness, establishing ethical criteria and responsible care.
  • Consider the sacred dimension of suffering—spiritual crises, trauma, addictions—as potential thresholds for transformation and growth.
  • Deepen the connection between psychology, spirituality, and traditional medicine and their role in the recovery of ancestral memory and healing.
  • Cultivate a ritual, contemplative, and eco-transpersonal personal practice as the foundation of one's own path of service.

Module three focuses on practical interventions for personal and communal regeneration through reconnecting, learning, and healing with nature. The foundations of transpersonal ecotherapy as an encounter with the soul both within and without are clarified, delving into forest bathing therapy, active imagination, appreciative inquiry, focusing, and other methods for navigating the unconscious mind. Rites of passage in nature, the therapeutic applications of the WTR spiral, and methodologies such as Dragon Dreaming and Theory U complement an integrative approach that honors inner experience and ecosystemic intelligence.

Objectives

  • Analyze the foundations of regenerative methodologies from the perspective of Transpersonal Ecopsychology.
  • Explore Forest Bathing as a core practice in the pursuit of health, wellbeing, and reconnection with nature.
  • Learn and apply active imagination and appreciative inquiry as gateways to transformation and the wisdom of the unconscious mind.
  • Examine the role of nature-based rites of passage in human development and the therapeutic value of the WTR spiral.
  • Integrate the principles of Dragon Dreaming and Theory U into designing regenerative facilitation experiences and collaborative projects.
  • Develop an integrative understanding of nature through self-knowledge, community action, and collective transformation.

Module four oversees the transition of transpersonal ecopsychology toward its tangible, transformative expression in service to the community, integrating theoretical and practical principles of soul tending and group facilitation. Topics covered include the underlying dimensions of service and vocation, mutual care, authentic communication, and ways to share one's work coherently and sustainably, as well as collaborative leadership, group facilitation and individual tending from an eco-transpersonal perspective. Alongside, the creation, and potential implementation, of an integrative research project allows students to embody and share their unique eco-transpersonal creations by way of presentations.

  • Analyze the ethical, psychological, and spiritual dimensions of service as a path to personal and collective fulfillment from an eco-transpersonal perspective.
  • Design and implement a service-oriented project that embodies the eco-transpersonal vision and its transformative potentials in real-world contexts.
  • Develop essential skills for a soul guide to sustain coherent, sustainable, and regenerative group and personal interventions.
  • Implement principles of care, relational authenticity, and transformation that contribute to the flourishing of vocational aptitudes.
  • Explore principles of collaborative leadership and cooperative dynamics as expressions of the deep ecology of human relationships.
  • Integrate the formative experience into a living practice that articulates vocation, purpose, and action in service of the web of life.

The final project is an opportunity to refine and integrate lessons learned throughout the Certificate, in addition to making visible the student's deeper purpose and their unique vocational expressions in relation to the topics explored. Students are encouraged to make the final project as an organic inquiry, a dynamic process that addresses and activates their innermost callings. This can take a variety of forms, including an essay, an audiovisual project, an artistic performance, or others.
